Acer Chromebook 15 With Largest 15.6 inch Display Launched At CES 2015

Acer has launched its latest Chromebook- Acer Chromebook 15 at CES 2015 event at Las Vegas. It is the world’s biggest Chromebook till date with 15.6 inch display. This device is also the first Chromebook from Acer to equip Intel 5th Generation Core micro-architecture based 5th Generation Intel Core i3 and next generation Intel Celeron processors. Based on type of display, Chromebook 15 will be available in two variants, both with 15.6 inch Acer ComfyView displays, they differ in their resolution. One variant is full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution while other budget variant comes with HD display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. The buyers will also have the option to choose from the processors, 5th Generation Intel Core i3 processor or next generation Intel Celeron processors. While the Chromebook 15 variants will also differ in terms of internal storage-16 GB or 32 GB and RAM- 2 GB or 4 GB.

Connectivity options on Chromebook 15 include MIMO 2 x 2 Wi-Fi 802.11ac which is claimed to provide up to three times faster connectivity. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, the USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and HDMI port. This device also features full sized speakers facing upwards for amazing sound clarity. The dimensions of Chromebook 15 are 393 x 256 x 24.2 mm while it weighs 2.2 kg.

Acer has also expanded its existing Chromebook 13 series with touchscreen models. Chromebook 13, featuring 13.3 inch display and based on NVIDIA Tegra K1 mobile processor will be available in EMEA starting from the end of January 2015 at EUR 329.

Price and Availability

Chromebook 15 will be available at a starting price of $249.99 (Rs. 15,855 approximately) in United States while the pricing of this device will differ on the basis of the processor, display and storage of the variant.
