The Asus ZenFone Zoom S is priced at Rs 26,999 in India. The new handset is exclusively available on Flipkart. The re-branded smartphone was unveiled at CES 2017 as the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom. It was launched in the US back in May this year.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom S features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with full-HD resolution and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 2TB). The new handset is backed by a 5000mAh battery with reverse charging feature. It claims to offer up to 42 days of standby time.

Asus ZenFone Zoom S

The USP of the Asus ZenFone Zoom S is its dual camera setup on the back. It combines two 12-megapixel sensors. The 12MP primary camera features a Sony IMX362 sensor with a f/1.7 aperture, 1.4µm pixels size, and 25mm wide-angle main lens. The secondary 12MP zoom camera features 2.3X true optical zoom and 12x of total zoom.

The handset uses optical image stabilization (OIS) for photos and electronic image stabilization (EIS) for 4K videos. Other camera features include Dual Pixel phase detection autofocus (PDAF), second-generation laser autofocus, 0.03s TriTech+ technology (quick autofocus in 0.03 seconds), subject-tracking autofocus, and RAW file support. A full manual mode allows you to adjust white balance, exposure value (EV), focus, ISO, and shutter-speed.

The 13-megapixel front camera comes with a Sony IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom S sports an aluminum-alloy design. It measures 154.3 x 77 x 7.9mm and weighs 170 grams. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. It will be available in Navy Black and Glacier Silver color options.

The new smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with Zen UI 3.0 on top. However, users will receive an Android 7.1.1 Nougat update soon. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C port. Other features include hi-res audio up to 192 KHz/24-bit and dual internal mics.
