Coolpad has launched a toned down version of its Note 3 smartphone in India, dubbed the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. With its competitive pricing, the Note 3 Lite has become cheapest smartphone available in India with fingerprint sensor.

The Coolpad Note 3 Lite is a smaller variant of the Coolpad Note 3. The Note 3 Lite comes with a champagne gold colored metal frame around the display, rear camera and fingerprint sensor which looks impressive. The Coolpad Note 3 comes with matte finish back panel while the Lite version features a removable rear panel with criss-cross pattern for better grip.
Processor & RAM
Both smartphones pack MediaTek MT6753 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1GHz while the larger variant comes with 1.3GHz octa-core CPU.
The screen resolution of both smartphones is HD (1280×720 pixels), there is however a difference in screen size. The Coolpad Note 3 features a 5.5-inch display while Lite variant comes with a 5-inch display.
This round is a tie. Both smartphones sport a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.
In storage department again, both smartphones have a tie. They house 16GB of internal memory with support for microSD card for expandable storage.
Software & Connectivity
Both variants run Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system wrapped under Cool UI 6.0. They offer Dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
While 5.5-inch Note 3 comes with a 3000mAh battery, the Lite version is backed up by a smaller 2500mAh battery.
There is a fingerprint sensor on the rear of both smartphones. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite now holds the crown of cheapest smartphone with fingerprint smartphone. This title was previously held by its older sibling Coolpad Note 3.
The Coolpad Note 3 Lite costs Rs. 6,999 which is Rs. 2,000 cheaper than the Coolpad Note 3 which is priced at Rs. 8,999.
Apart from screen size, battery capacity and CPU, there are no major differences in Coolpad’s Note 3 and Note 3 Lite variants. If you don’t want to spend more and want a compact phone, then you can go for Coolpad Note 3 Lite. If you want a more powerful phone and are okay with spending Rs. 2,000 more then, Coolpad Note 3 is the right phone for you.
