Coolpad To Enter India With Dazen Brand Of Smartphones On May 28

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad is all set to make its foray into the Indian market. The company has started sending out invites for an event scheduled on 28th May in New Delhi where it is likely to launch its first smartphone for India. Though there is no information on which handset is Coolpad going to launch, rumors suggest that it could be Tiptop Pro phone with bezel-less design which was recently launched in China. Furthermore, the company is likely to come up with smartphones with prices ranging between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 to compete with other players in the market like Meizu, Asus, Xiaomi and upcoming Phicomm brand.

Chinese handset manufacturer Coolpad has announced its exclusive partnership with e-commerce portal Snapdeal for its upcoming Dazen brand of smartphones in India. Coolpad is expected to launch 4G LTE smartphones in India with price between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 range to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Asus, Meizu and others.

As per rumors, Coolpad is likely to launch its bezel-less Coolpad Tiptop Pro smartphone in India which was launched in China lately. Specifications of the handset include 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Coolpad’s UI, 2GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage.

On imaging front, it sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. The handset also boasts of its 4G LTE support and fingerprint scanner.

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad is all set to enter Indian market with its Dazen brand of smartphones. The company is going to make its debut in India this month, reports Economic Times. Coolpad’s Dazen brand will be an online only brand like Xiaomi, Huawei’s Honor brand, Motorola etc. which follow the same practice. Furthermore, Coolpad is also planning to set up a research & development centre and manufacturing unit in India.

Coolpad, under its Dazen brand, will sell smartphones between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 price range and it intends to be among top three online selling brands in the country by the end of this year.

“We will use the strengths of Coolpad as a manufacturer and innovator and the intent is to build a software and services ecosystem solving needs of our customers that are mostly online buyers,” said Varun Sharma, the newly appointed chief executive officer at Coolpad India operations to ET.

“There’s a lot of patented technology we’re building for India, which will cater to the local market and other South Asian countries that we plan to launch in the future,” said Sharma, the former director of strategic brand alliances at e-commerce portal Flipkart.

Though Coolpad is yet to enter the Indian market, it does have many devices already been launched in other regions. Coolpad launched its Ivvi K1 Mini in China, touted as the world’s slimmest smartphone with thickness of mere 4.7mm. Specifications of the handset include 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. It features a 4.7-inch display and comes with 8 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The Ivvi K1 Mini sports an 8 mega pixel rear camera, 5 mega pixel front camera and is backed up by an 1800 mAh battery.
