Hasselblad has announced a new 400-Megapixel Multi-Shot Medium Format camera. It is an addition to the company’s H6D medium format camera series. The new Hasselblad H6D-400C MS comes with the company’s Multi-Shot technology and sensor-shift feature. The new camera allows you to capture 400-megapixel images (sized at 2.4GB). The Hasselblad H6D-400C MS is priced at whopping $47,995 (approx Rs 30,64,200). It will be available from March this year. Pre-orders for the new camera have already started. The company is also offering the expensive camera on rent. The rent fee is EUR 399 (approx Rs 23,400) per day.

The new Hasselblad H6D-400C MS features a 100 megapixel CMOS sensor (53.4 x 40mm). It comes with as a native ISO range of 64 – 12,800, up to a 60-minute shutter speed, and Hasselblad’s True Focus II autofocus technology.
The camera uses Multi-Shot technology to offer a full 400-megapixel resolution. It is capable of capturing 6 images. The first four help in capturing real colour data. The sensor is moved by half a pixel horizontally. Next, the sensor is moved half a pixel vertically to get two more images. The merged image forms a 2.4GB, 16-bit TIFF file at 23,200×17,400 pixels.
However, to capture the high-res photo the camera has to be tethered via USB to a computer. In normal use, images can be captured in a single shot or Multi-Shot technology ( only with four exposures). You can also record Full HD and 4K UHD RAW videos at up to 25 fps.
Additional features include dual media card slots (CFast 2.0 and SD card), a three-inch touchscreen display, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi, HDMI, and audio input.
