Huawei has launched a new Honor smartphone in China. The new Honor V10 comes with a dual camera setup and AI technology. The bezel-less smartphone comes with the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. Price CNY 3,000 (approx Rs 29,500)

The Honor V10 is priced at CNY 2,699 (approx Rs 26,400) for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 29,300), the 6GB RAM/ 128GB variant costs CNY 3,499 (approx Rs 34,200). It is now up for pre-orders on Vmall.com, JD.com, Tmall.com, Suning.com, and Gome.com. Sales start from December 5.

The new smartphone is expected to hit the Indian market in January next year. As of now, there is no information about an Indian price.

The Honor V10 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 403ppi and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core (4 x 2.36GHz Cortex-A73 cores + 4 x 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 cores) processor and an i7 co-processor. The new handset uses a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI and machine learning related functions. 

The internal storage on the handset can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB). It is powered by a 3750mAh battery with 5V/ 4.5A fast charging support. The new smartphone offers up to 23 hours of talk-time on 3G, and 22 days of standby time.

On the camera front, the Honor V10 sports a dual rear camera setup with a f/1.8 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus system), dual-LED flash. It uses a 16-megapixel RGB primary sensor and a secondary 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The 13-megapixel front camera comes with a f/2.0 aperture.

The Honor V10 runs Android 8.0 operating system with EMUI 8.0 on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz + 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Infrared, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (2.0), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone measures 157 x 74.98 x 6.97mm and weighs 172 grams. It features a fingerprint sensor on the home button. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.

The new Honor V10 is essentially a lighter variant of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which was launched at EUR 699 (approx Rs 53,400). It features a 6.0-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and a pixel density of 402ppi. The Mate 10 Pro is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (non-expandable).

On the camera front, the dual camera setup on the smartphone combines a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with a 12-megapixel RGB sensor. Camera features include optical image stabilization (OIS), BSI CMOS sensor, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), CAF, Laser Autofocus, and Depth Autofocus, and a dual-LED flash. There is also an 8-megapixel fixed focus front camera on the device. It is backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery.
