If you are not able to decide whether you should buy this phone or not, then we are here to help you. We spent some time with the phone, and in this post, we go hands on with LG’s K10 smartphone. Read on to find hands on review of LG K10 (with video) entailing details on price, specifications and features.
First thing in the box is LG K10 LTE phone itself. It also comes with a charging adapter (output rating- 5V-0.85A), earphones with a mic and a button to accept/reject calls, 2300mAh battery, a USB data cable and some documentation. It also comes with a quick cover which allows users to check notifications.
The design of the phone is very stylish and attractive. LG’s glossy pebble design language, along with an intricate woven pattern on the rear makes it classy enough to entice younger buyers. The woven pattern on the rear provides the phone with optimal grip.
On the front, there is a 5.3-inch HD display. Above the display, there is a 5 mega pixel front shooter along with sensors and earpiece. Below the display, there is LG branding and navigation keys are a part of the display.
On the rear, there is a 13 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash, power button, volume rockers, LG branding and speakers.
The speakers are loud and clear.
On the top edge, there is secondary mic for noise cancellation.
On the bottom edge, there is USB charging port along with microphone hole and 3.5mm audio jack.
Left and right edges of the device are clean. On removing the rear panel, you will get access to 2300mAh battery, 2 SIM card slots and a microSD card slot.
Overall build quality of the phone is nice and it is a very light weight and compact phone with good grip.
It comes with a 5.3-inch HD display with 720p (1280×720 pixels) resolution and 2.5D glass for smoother touch and swipe experience. The display is very sharp and vivid with good viewing angles. The video viewing experience is also good.
Moving on to the camera department, the LG K10 LTE sports a 13 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. Both cameras are capable of taking impressive shots with good detailing and clarity. It comes with Gesture shot feature that allows users to take selfies by raising hand in front of the front camera and make a fist. If the fist is same twice, then it will capture four selfies in a sequence. It also comes with selfie light feature such that the screen illuminates a soft light around the photo preview for well-lit selfies. Here are some sample images taken with this phone:
Hardware & Performance
Coming to the hardware and performance department, the K10 LTE is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal memory (around 11 GB user available) which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
It scores around 28000 points on Antutu benchmarks. This phone handles multitasking and gaming with ease. We did not face any noticeable lag or heating issues while playing heavy games like Frontline commando 2. It offers smooth gaming and multitasking performance.
On software front, it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The software is smooth and responsive and comes with many interesting features such as Knock On and Knock Code features. The Knock On feature allows users to put the phone to sleep or wake it up without picking it and pressing the power button. The Knock Code feature lets users create a screen lock using 3 to 8 point tapping pattern for more security. We tested the phone for USB OTG and it seems that the unit that we have received, doesn’t support USB OTG.
Battery & Connectivity
It is fueled by a 2300mAh removable battery which should be good enough to survive for up to one day on moderate usage. It is a dual SIM phone and comes with support for 4G LTE.
Price & Availability
The LG K10 LTE is priced at Rs. 13,500.
The LG K10 LTE has a very attractive design, large display, good camera combination and decent battery life. On paper, it looks like a great phone but there are some other smartphones available in this price range like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Lenovo K4 Note that offer better specs.
