Price Rs 94,790

The new Dell XPS 13 is priced at Rs 94,790 for the Core i5 variant (full-HD display). While a Core i7 variant (full-HD display) is available at Rs 1,41,490, the Core i7 variant (Ultra HD display) comes with a price tag of Rs 1,59,790. It will be available for via both online and offline channels in the country from 20 February onwards.

The new Dell XPS 13 laptop sports a 13-inch InfinityEdge display with IPS wide-viewing angles (170-degree) and 400-nit brightness. The company is calling it ‘virtually borderless’. It comes with only a 5.2mm bezel on the top and both sides. The base variant sports a 13-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. Whereas the top-end variant sports a 13-inch Ultra HD (2160×3840 pixels) display with HDR support.

The new laptop weighs around 1.2kg (1.29kg for touch version) and measures 9-15 x 304 x 200mm. It is made from machined aluminum and carbon fiber. Additionally, hardened Corning Gorilla Glass NBT (on touchscreen versions) is added for extra durability. The new Dell XPS 13 comes in Rose Gold and Alpine White color options. A limited edition variant comes in Platinum Silver color option with a Black carbon fiber palm rest.

The new Dell XPS 13 models run Windows 10 operating system. The new model is powered by 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U (up to Intel Core i7-8550U) processors along with Intel UHD Graphics, up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, and up to 512GB PCIe SSD storage.

The audio is enhanced by Waves MaxxAudio Pro-tuned stereo speakers (1-watt each). The new laptop features Killer 1535 Wireless-AC (most reliable Wi-Fi connection) and Thunderbolt 3 port (enables up to 8x the transfer speeds of USB 3.0 at up to 40Gbps). Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C 3.1 (Gen 1), 1 SD card reader, 1 headset jack, and a Noble lock slot. It is backed by a 52Whr battery with Dell Dynamic power mode.

Additional features include password-free login (with a Windows Hello and IR camera), GORE Thermal Insulation, and Dell Cinema (features include CinemaColor, CinemaSound, and CinemaStream).

Conclusion

Dell claims that the new 8th generation processors deliver up to 44 percent improved performance over 7th gen processors. Users can expect better processing power and temperature maintenance. Additionally, the XPS 13 is an ENERGY STAR qualified product which means it is free of materials like cadmium, lead, mercury and some phthalates.
