Well we got one more proof that @evleaks is never wrong. Nokia today at the first day of MWC, 2014 which is an annual press event held in the global mobile capital Barcelona, Spain announced the first Android smartphone the Nokia X. At the press event along with Nokia X, Nokia also announced two more handsets Nokia X+ and Nokia XL which have some improvements from the parent model that is the Nokia X with a hike in the pricing.
Nokia X which was quite hyped over the span of two months if I am not wrong, has been finally unveiled and supposedly with the leaks turning out to be true. Nokia X sports a 4-inch WVGA display with 480×800 pixels resolution. It is powered by 1GHz Qualcomm processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB on-board storage. It comes with additional memory support with microSD and 1500mAh battery.
The Nokia X+ comes with better storage and memory with rest of the specifications being similar to the Nokia X and Nokia XL comes with a 2MP front-facing camera and a bigger 5-inch screen apart from what Nokia X offers.
All of them have dual-SIM card support and comes with an AOSP of Android 4.1.2 build customized by Nokia in-house to give a look and feel of Asha with the capability to run Android apps. There will be no Google Play Services support and Nokia will host applications on its own app store in support with Microsoft with some of their apps. Android though will be able to sideload apks and third party app stores.
Microsoft offers one month of free Skype calls and 1GB of free OneDrive storage as an introductory offer for all Nokia X customers.
Pricing and Availability
Nokia X will be available in countries including India starting today for 89 euros, wheras the X+ and XL will be available in Q2 this year for 99 euros and 109 euros respectively.
