The Nubia Z17 Lite is priced at CNY 2,499 (approx Rs 24,700) in China. It will be available from September 6. There is no word regarding an Indian launch yet.

The Nubia Z17 Lite features a 5.5-inch TFT edge-to-edge display with full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The new smartphone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core (4 x 1.95GHz Cortex-A72 cores + 4 x 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 cores) Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor and huge 6GB LPDDR3 RAM. The 64GB of inbuilt storage cannot be expanded. It is backed by a 3200mAh non-removable battery which comes with Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

On the camera front, the Nubia Z17 sports a dual camera setup on the back. It combines two 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensors (color + black and white). Camera features include PDAF hybrid phase focus, f/2.2 aperture, and Nubia’s own NeoVision 7.0 Custom Edition functionality. Additionally, the dual camera setup sports a 5P lens protected by Sapphire glass protection.

The new handset also features a 16MP front with Samsung image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and an 80-degree wide angle 5P lens.

The Z17 Lite runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with Nubia 5.0 UI on top. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/c), Bluetooth v4.2 with BLE support, GPS, NFC and USB OTG. The single SIM device also comes with DTS sound technology.

The Nubia Z17 Lite features a metal unibody design. It measures 152.75 x 72.55 x 7.6mm and weighs 168 grams. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back. Other sensors on the device include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope. The new handset comes in Black, Blue, and Gold color options.

The new Nubia Z17 Lite offers an exciting great combination of specs and features, especially the cameras and 6GB RAM. However, we will have to wait to see how it performs in real world situations.
