OKWU Pi With Dual Rear Cameras, Fingerprint Sensor Launched For Rs. 5,999: Specifications & Features

IoT startup OKWU has launched its first smartphone, called the OKWU Pi in the Indian market along with a U-Tag. The smartphone packs a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor paired with Mali-T720 GPU. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, it features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixels resolution.

The Pi houses 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory with expandable support up to 32GB via microSD card. The smartphone comes with a dual camera set up on the rear. It sports an 8 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and a 2 mega pixel secondary rear camera. It is also equipped with a 2 mega pixel front camera with LED flash. Backed up by a 2000mAh battery, it weighs 138 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor on the back for additional security.

The U-Tag is a Bluetooth tag which can be connected to your belongings and devices, so that you don’t loose them. With the U-Tag, you can easily locate your belongings using a buzzer in close range and get alerts on your smartphone. The phone will keep uploading and updating its location to their server which can track the location of the device without overwriting the previous location.

Currently, OKWU manufactures and assembles its smartphones in Shenzhen, China and plans to set up its own assembly unit in India.

Price & Availability

The OKWU Pi carries a price tag of Rs. 5,999 while the U-Tag will cost Rs. 990. The Pi comes in Gold and Rose gold color options and will be up for pre-orders from November 27.
