Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has always launched a new handset in the summer. It has been followed by an upgraded variant at around November. The recent OnePlus 6 predecessor OnePlus 5T maintained the same design as the OnePlus except for an 18:9 panel. In terms of redesign, the OnePlus has a glass back. The OnePlus X also had that, but switching from metal gives OnePlus 6 a more high-end vibe.
The new flagship smartphone sports 256GB storage (a first for the company). It is also built with a notch up front. According to the company it is made to increase the screen real estate. the device is also water-resistant.
OnePlus 6 has been launched six months after 5T, so it will be a little hard to find many differences.

Similarities:
When talking about OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T, one can easily state that the 5T wasn’t short on performance, even though OnePlus 6 is built with Qualcomm’s latest silicon chip. Both the devices have 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM on either device. But OnePlus 6 even has a 256GB storage variant. The new flagship device also has a headphone jack.
Both of the smartphones are equipped with AptX HD on both handsets. Dash Charge hasn’t been changed. It charges the phones pretty quick.

The software experience is also largely similar. OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1.2 on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Differences:
Even while talking about OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T, you can also spot plenty of differences. The glass back and well-defined curves along the sides of OnePlus 6 has made it a more comfortable handset. Unlike 5T, OnePlus 6 sports a new imaging sensor. It has larget 1.22μm pixels and OIS. In term of water and dust resistance, the OnePlus 6 is better.
Verdict:
With all honesty, there is no real winner between OnePlus 6 vs OnePlus 5T. The 5T is still a terrific handset. If you don’t like the notch concept, the 5T has an added bonus then. In terms of sales, it got a lot of profit for the company.
So if you a 5T, then it doesn’t really make sense to buy the OnePlus 6, as an upgraded version will come out in upcoming months anyways.
