The software experience is also largely similar. OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1.2 on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Differences:

The smartphone weighs 15g and has 0.45mm thickness. OnePlus 6 is also built with Gorilla Glass-encased back. The new handset’s display is a little larger, but not as tall as the OnePlus 5T. The extra 0.27-inch screen real estate facilitates a few extra lines of text when browsing.

The notch doesn’t interfere with the new phone’s ability to view video content, as media is letterboxed to fit to a 16:9 or 18:9 screen ratio. The new device also has a single speaker, but still beats out 5T in terms of loudness and well-defined clarity. In OnePlus 6, the alert slider has been shifted to the right side of the device. the SIM card slot has been moved to the left.

Unlike 5T, OnePlus 6 sports a new imaging sensor. It has larget 1.22μm pixels and OIS. In term of water and dust resistance, the OnePlus 6 is better.

Verdict:

So if you a 5T, then it doesn’t really make sense to buy the OnePlus 6, as an upgraded version will come out in upcoming months anyways.
