The Oppo A83 is priced in China at CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 13,700). It is currently available for pre-orders. Sales start from December 29. As of now, there is no information about an Indian launch or price.

The new handset is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor and 4GB of RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It sports a 5.7-inch LCD display with HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash. It also features an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The new handset is backed by a 3090mAh battery.

The Oppo A83 runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with Color OS 3.2 on top. The new facial recognition technology on the device unlocks the smartphone within 0.18 seconds. It uses 128 unique feature points on the user’s face. Other sensors on the device include a proximity sensor, compass, and accelerometer.

The dual-SIM smartphone measures 150.5 x 73.1 x 7.7mm and weighs 143 grams. It comes in Champagne and Black color options. Connectivity options include 4G, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Oppo seems to reach a specific target before the year-end. The company has also launched two new smartphones in the Taiwan market – Oppo A75 and Oppo A75s. Both handsets feature a 6.0-inch full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. We expect the new handsets to reach the Indian shores early next year.
