Hardware

The 64-bit Snapdragon 810 packs eight cores- four ARM Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 cores. While its predecessor Snapdragon 805 supports up to 2.7 GHz quad-core and Snapdragon 801 supports up to 2.5 GHz quad-core.

As for the graphics, Snapdragon 810 comes with an improved Adreno 430 GPU as compared to Adreno 420 GPU of Snapdragon 805 and the Adreno 330 GPU in Snapdragon 801. The Adreno 430 is said to be around twice as fast as Adreno 420 in compute applications and 30% faster in 3D performance.

Display & Modem

The Snapdragon 810 supports 4K native and 4K external displays while Snapdragon 805 and 801 support 1080p and 4K external displays.

The Snapdragon features Cat 9 which offers download speeds up to 450 Mbps down/50 Mbps up.

Multimedia

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 comes with 11.1 surround sound with Dolby and DTS and delivers ultimate sound quality which would be loved by every music buff. It features HEVC hardware which is capable of capturing 1080p and 4K Ultra HD videos.

Camera

The Snapdragon 810 comes with enhanced photography options. It features 14-bit dual ISPs which can offer support for 1.2GP/s throughput and image sensors up to 55 mega pixels. Its predecessor Snapdragon 805 also supports 55 mega pixels while the Snapdragon 810 comes with image sensor support up to 21 mega pixels.

Connectivity & Security

Coming to connectivity front, the Snapdragon 810 includes plenty of options like Qualcomm VIVE 2-stream 802.11ac w/MU-MIMO technology, Multi-Gigabit speeds with Qualcomm 802.11ad technology, Qualcomm IZat location services Gen8C, USB 3.0/2.0 and Bluetooth 4.1.

The Snapdragon 810 chip impresses us in security department. It is based on Qualcomm SecureMSM digital rights management platform and features Qualcomm Snapdragon StudioAccess technology.
