The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro smartphone is priced at Rs 20,900 respectively. You will have to wait for the Galaxy J7 Pro until July. Samsung is offering up to Rs 800 cashback on payments made using Pay Mini on the new smartphones. Additionally, Reliance Jio users will get an extra 120GB data (extra 10GB per month for 12 months on monthly recharge of Rs 309) with the new handset.

The Galaxy J7 Pro sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution. It is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor along with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage (expandable via a microSD card). On the camera front, the new smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and a LED flash. The 13-megapixel front camera comes with f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash. It is backed by a 3,600mAh battery.

The new handset runs Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box with Samsung’s custom UI on top. The Galaxy J7 Pro sports a metal body design with curved edges. The home button also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. It comes in Gold and Black color option.

The Galaxy J7 Pro supports Samsung Pay which allows you to turn your smartphone into a wallet, storing credit and debit cards. Users can use Paytm or government’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) by just tapping the phone on the Point of Sale (PoS) machine. The new features uses Samsung’s patented technology, Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) for everyday transactions on regular PoS machines

Pay Mini

The newly introduces Pay Mini is essentially a lighter version of Samsung Pay. It also works without on smartphone without NFC feature. While the new feature works with mobile wallets and payment services such as Paytm and UPI, it won’t work with regular swiping machines using MST technology. Compatible devices should at least run on Android Lollipop and feature HD (720p) display.

Social Camera

The new feature adds instant sharing, instant editing and instant discovery to your smartphone camera. You can pin your favorite contacts/social media within the camera and share memories as you click. The instant editing allows you to apply live filters or live stickers. You don’t necessarily need third-party image editing apps. The instant discovery feature brings augmented reality (AR) to smartphones. It allows your surroundings for popular photography spots, restaurants, shopping areas, etc.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is essentially an Indian version of the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017). While the new smartphone sports decent specs, it does not stand out in its price segment. At Rs 20,900, the Galaxy J7 Pro will face tough competition from other brands with more impressive features.
