Samsung Galaxy Tab A Tablets With 8-inch & 9.7-inch Displays Announced

Samsung has unveiled its two new Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets at an event in Russia. According to AllAboutPhones, the tablets have been introduced in 8-inch and 9.7-inch display sizes. Under the hood, both the tablets are powered by 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core processor accompanied with 2 GB of RAM. The tablets also sport a 5 mega pixel rear camera and a 2 mega pixel front facing camera. For storage, the tablets house 16 GB of internal memory which is further expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. The Galaxy Tab A packs 4200 mAh battery and runs Android Lollipop operating system. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional 4G LTE support.

As for specifications, the handset comes with 4.5 inch display (480 x 800 pixels resolution), 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4 KitKat OS (upgradable to Android Lollipop), 1.5 GB RAM, 8 GB of ROM (expandable via microSD card), 5 mega pixel rear camera, 2 mega pixel front shooter and 2200 mAh battery.

Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets are likely to be priced around Euro 300 and will go on sale in Russia next month. There is no word on launch of the tablets in other markets.
