Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Tablets Announced: Price, Specs & Features

Samsung has finally taken the wraps off its Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets with 8-inch and 9.7-inch display sizes. With just 5.6mm thickness, both Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are touted as thinnest and lightest tablets of the size and are thinner than Apple iPad Air 2. Both tablets also come with inbuilt touch enabled fingerprint scanner.

Both devices share some specifications in common. The Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are powered by an octa-core Exynos 5433 processor (quad-core 1.9GHz plus quad-core 1.3GHz) paired with 3GB of RAM and run Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Other common specs of the tablets include 8 mega pixel rear camera and 2.1 mega pixel front facing camera.

The Tab S2 8 comes with an 8-inch display and is backed up by a 4000mAh battery while Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 features a 9.7-inch screen and packs 5870mAh battery. Screen resolution of both tablets is 2048×1536 pixels. The former measures 134.8×198.6×5.6mm and weighs 265 grams  while latter measures 169×237.3×5.6mm and weighs 389 grams for LTE model.

Price and Availabilty

There is no word on the price of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets as of now. The tablets will be rolled out for sale globally in August 2015 in  Black and White color options.
