Samsung Galaxy S4 has been the smartphone that everybody has been looking forward to for a while and Samsung has finally announced it. The Galaxy S4 was launched at an event in New York amidst a lot of fanfare and we tell you what the whole deal is about.

The S4 will have a 5 inch screen of full HD display resolution like the competitors Xperia Z and HTC one. The smartphone will have a pixel density of 441 ppi which shall help it reproduce crisp and clear displays. The smartphone looks quite similar to the Galaxy S3 and takes the previous generation smartphone’s design philosophy to a notch higher up the ladder. It will run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box.

Xolo Q800 With Quad Core Processor and qHD Display Launched At Rs. 12499

A couple of months back, the rage in the budget smartphone segment were the dual core smartphones but then the Indian manufacturers announced that they’ll soon be launching the quad core smartphone around February-March and since the current month is March, it is time we saw all those quad-cores parade through our retail shelves. We recently brought you the news of Lava launching a quad core smartphone in mid-march under the Xolo brand but it seems the launch has happened sooner than expected.

Micromax brought the A116 HD which nobody has seen in stock, Karbonn brought the S1 which is still on pre-order from more than a month but now we finally have a smartphone which is quad core and in stock, the Lava Xolo Q800. We’d like to call it just the Xolo Q800 because addition of Lava takes the premiumness out of the smartphone. So let us talk about the Xolo Q800 which can be ordered right away at a price of Rs.12,499.

Lava E-Tab Connect Launched In India At Rs. 9499

Lava has been emerging slowly as one of the better performers amidst the Indian and Chinese manufacturers who are crowding the budget tablet, phablet and smartphone game with each passing day. And in an attempt to further improve its grasp over the segment, Lava has launched their first ever tablet with 3G and voice calling functionality in India. And yes, it is a 7 inch tablet. The screen has a resolution of 800×480 pixels and it will sell for Rs. 9,499.

The Lava E-Tab connect has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A ARM Cortex A5 processor which will take care of the processing department and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But yes the highlight is the SIM card slot which will help you use 3G on the tablet and also make calls. There’s a primary camera for clicking pictures with a 2.0 megapixel resolution and the secondary camera has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels which will come in handy for video-calling.

Gionee Dream D1- HD Super AMOLED And Quad Core Video Review

Gionee Mobiles India has launched its flagship device the Gionee Dream D1 at an MPR of Rs. 17999. It comes with the android jelly bean 4.1 operating system. It has 4.65 HD Super AMOLED display with up to 316ppi. The device is 8.6mm thin, slimmest design and has a  1.2 GHz quad core processor are the plus points of this device. The pixel density is also pretty good, in fact very close to iPhone 5 retina displa. Gionee is the one of the biggest mobile manufacturer in the world based in China. It has sold 2.5 crore mobile devices in the world in last one year and now its target is to expand its reach to Indian mobile market. Dream D1 also comes with Gorrila Glass 2 which makes it scratch resistant.  It has 1 GB of RAM and a quad core processor.

Zync Dual 7.0, Quad 8.0 and Quad 9.7 Android Tablets Launched

Zync has announced three new tablets named as Dual 7.0, Quad 8.0 and Quad 9.7 in India. These tablets have been named on the basis of their screen sizes and processor specs and priced accordingly below ₹14,000.

The Dual 7.0 as the name suggests sports a 7-inch WVGA multi-touch capacitive screen offering 800×480 pixels resolution and packs in a 1.6GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. Other features include a 2-megapixel back camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera with 8GB internal memory and a 3000mAh battery.

Wickedleak Wammy Passion Y HD Launched At Rs. 16999

After the launch of the Micrmax Canvas HD there is another device that has quad core processor. Micromax canvas HD is available at the price Rs. 13,999 while Wammy Passion Y is launched at the price Rs. 16,999. Buy you can find it on Wickedleak website at the price Rs. 15,499. Both phones have much similarities but one major difference is between both is that Wammy Passion Y has a 5 megapixel camera at front while you will find a 2 megapixel camera in the canvas HD. The prebooking of this device is started at Wickedleak website but it will shipping from 15 March. Recently company also launched two phablets name Wammy Desire and Wammy Titan in the Indian market.

Lava Q Series Quad-Core Smartphones

Lava Mobiles has been launching budget smartphones in India but those have been dual-cores and single core smartphones whereas the competition, Karbonn and Micromax primarily have already introduced quad-core offerings. And now they are looking to enter the quad-core smartphone segment with the Q series of smartphones under their Xolo brand’s name. Xolo branded smartphones with Q series will be the budget quad core offerings from Lava.

The first smartphone in the series will be the Q800 which will be the quad core version of the A800. It will be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MTK 6589 chipset which also powers the Micromax A116. The smartphone will have a screen size of 4.5 inches and this is area where peope might choose to go either ways. Some might like the compactness of the 4.5 inch screen whereas others might like the bigger screen the Micromax A116 will have on offer.
