DataWind Ubislate i3G7 With Intel Atom Processor Launched At Rs. 5,999: Specifications & Features

DataWind has launched its first Intel powered tablet- DataWind Ubislate i3G7, in the Indian market. As far as specifications are concerned, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom x3 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with 1GB of RAM. The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and features a 7-inch TFT display with 1024×600 pixels resolution.

The device sports a 2 mega pixel rear camera and a VGA front facing camera. It houses 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.

Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4 & PocketSurfer 3G4 Smartphones Launched

Datawind, the Canadian firm known for its Aakash tablets has launched its two new budget smartphones, Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4 & PocketSurfer 3G4 in India. Datawind has also partnered with RCom to offer free unlimited data with the devices for one year which includes web browsing, email and social networking. The dual-SIM DataWind PocketSurfer 2G4 under the hood, packs a 1 GHz Cortex A5 processor coupled with 256 MB of RAM. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, it features a 3.5 inch capacitive display with 480 x 320 pixels resolution.

DataWind UbiSlate 10Ci & UbiSlate 3G10 Tablets Launched In India

UbiSlate tablets and PocketSurfer smartphones maker, DataWind has launched its two budget tablets-DataWind UbiSlate 10Ci & UbiSlate 3G10 in India, adding to its UbiSlate series. These tablets with large 10.1 inch screen are developed to target the first time buyers in the Indian market who do not want to spend much and at the same time they want a tablet equipped with good features. Both the tablets apart from their 10.1-inch display size with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, share some more similarities with each other and are available at a pocket friendly price. Both the tablets house 1 GB of RAM, 0.3 mega pixel or VGA front facing camera and pack a 6000 mAh battery, while both the tablets are listed in Black color option.

DataWind Surpasses Micromax and Apple: Leads Tablet Market with 15.3% Share

DataWind, the maker of Aakash tablet has occupied the lead position in the supply of tablet computers in India. According to the Quarterly Tablet Market report for Q1 2013 by Cyber Media Research, DataWind has grabbed 15.3% market share, thereby surpassing Micromax with 12.3% and Apple with 11.7% market shares.

It has to be noted that the supply of 100,000 Aakash 2 tablets to IIT Bombay on May 1, 2013 is not included in the report and it comprises only of commercial sales volume.

Following this report, DataWind CEO, Suneet Singh Tuli said, “The enormous demand for our products helps validate our focus on affordability and connectivity.  Unlike many in this industry that are focused on providing media tablets to the elite, our focus is to enable Indians with their first computer at an affordable price.”

Additionally, Dr. HamadounToure, Secretary General, International Telecommunications Union (ITU) entrusted DataWind with the most Innovative Access Device Award at the NTA ICT  World Communication Awards.

So long DataWind was selling its devices mainly through the call-centre, UbiSlate.com and via other e-commerce retailers, but, now, it has been announced that the company is planning to set up retail stores this summer to enable easier purchase.

Datawind, the company responsible for making the Aakash tablet which happens to be the world’s cheapest tablet for the students in India has just launched a new tablet for the Indian market. The tablet is expected to be the Aakash 3 in near future and will replace the Aakash 2 tablet. However, the company has named it Ubislate 7C+ Edge. It is expected to be a budget tablet and is available for sale now for Rs.5,999.

The highlight of the tablet is the fact that it comes with calling facility. There are rumours of the Aakash 3 getting a calling facility are doing the rounds and they might just see a materialisation in near future. It will be a 7 inch tablet and will have a resolution of 800×480 pixels. It will be powered by a 1 GHz single core processor and will run on a slightly older version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Aakash 3 Tablet Details Leaked- 1 GHz Processor, 512 RAM, SIM Slot Included

According to Datawind website the third generation of Aakash is expected to launch in mid-2013. Some of the specification is given on the Datawind official website but still its not clear that which operating system it is going to support. The specification is still have to be finalized by the NMEICT (National Mission for Education through Information Communication Technology) before end of March 2013. But it is clear that it going to support SIM card. The IIT Madras is working on this project very hard.

This tablet has Cortex 1 GHz processor with 512 MB RAM. There are 4GB internal memory support. The display is capacitive with multi touch. There is VGA front facing camera for video calling. And a G-sensor too. For connectivity there is Wi-Fi support too. And other features are still is not available. We will soon update you more in the future.
