Did you think OnePlus 3T will be the only ones for some time to come with 6GB RAM? Think again (ore perhaps read this). Those in China can now buy the latest Xiaomi flagship smartphone, the Mi 6. It sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset underneath its body. Priced from RMB 2,499 onwards (equal to roughly Rs 23,500). It is the first smartphone in China to come with Snapdragon 835 chip. The three variants of the Mi 6, when converted to Indian rupees, cost roughly Rs 23,500, Rs 27,000 and Rs 28,000 respectively. At such a price, they represent immense value for money, even more than OnePlus 3T. However, when it comes to India, taxation may affect the Mi 6’s price. Moreover, Xiaomi may just choose to bring in a less powerful version of the phone to keep costs down. Let’s hope Xiaomi Mi 6 India launch happens at this price point.

It is difficult to ascertain when the Xiaomi Mi 6 India launch will take place. However, do note that it should come to India this year if it has to make a mark in the Indian market. Since there are no Snapdragon 835 chip phones with 6GB RAM in India, Xiaomi has a golden opportunity to tilt the market in its favour for a long time to come.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with powerful hardware. However, if it comes to India, it may be the first phone to come with the Snapdragon 835 chip. Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with Exynos 8895 chip in India. Expect it to eat into OnePlus’ market share until the OnePlus 5 comes out.

This phone comes loaded to the gills with features. Some of the firsts the Xiaomi Mi 6 brings to the market are under-glass fingerprint scanner up front and a dual lens setup. Those make it quite desirable. With two special editions – Ceramic and Silver – this phone is going to be exclusive too. It will be available in Black, White and Blue colours as such.
