The Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). It is backed by a 3,080mAh battery. Whereas the Honor 9i packs a HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Internal memory. It is backed by a 3340mAh battery.
Both smartphones feature a dual camera setup on the back. The Xiaomi Mi A1 combines a 12MP 26mm wide-angle lens with a 12MP 50mm telephoto lens (similar to iPhone 7 Plus). It comes with 2X optical zoom, 1.25um pixels, a special Portrait mode, and a Beautify mode. On the other hand, the Honor 9i uses a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. The dual camera setup comes with PDAF and a LED flash.
On the front end, while the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5MP front camera with LED Flash, the Honor 9i sports a dual camera module (13 MP + 2 MP). The Honor handset offers better selfies with superior depth of field and details.
Design & Display
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a full metal body design with 2.5D curved glass. It comes with a special anti-fingerprint coating on the back. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back side. It comes in Black, Gold, and Rose Gold color options.
On the other hand, the Honor 9i sports a metal and glass design. The display comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio which makes it look slimmer. The premium looking handset measures 156.2 x 75.0 x 7.5mm and weighs 164 grams. It comes in three color options – Platinum Gold, Navy Blue, and Midnight Black.
While the Honor 9i sports a bright 5.9-inch FullView display with full-HD resolution and minimal bezels, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
