Price and Availability

The Mi Max 3 Pro has been rumored for a while now. Recently, it was spotted on Qualcomm’s site with a Snapdragon 710 chipset. Popular Chinese retail JD.com also listed the product on its site as well. However, Zhi Zhiyuan (Xiaomi product marketing director) has now stated that there will not be any Mi Max 3 Pro handset. He also added that the company is not working on any device with Snapdragon 710 SoC.

Xiaomi was expected to launch the Pro variant alongside Mi Max 3. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is priced at CNY 1699 (approx Rs 17,300) for 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. Whereas the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 1999 (approx Rs 20,400). Currently, it is only available in China.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes with a great combination of Snapdragon 636 SoC, large display, and a big battery. The new handset is aimed at multimedia consumption. Additionally, the rear camera comes with AI support.

The new phablet sports a 6.9-inch IPS 2.5D curved display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, 18:9 aspect ratio, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 84 percent NTSC color gamut. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with Adreno 509 and 4GB/ 6GB LPDDR4X RAM. The 64GB/ 128GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 sports a dual camera setup on the back. It combines a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 primary sensor (1.4µm pixel size, f/1.9 aperture, dual PD focus, LED flash) with a 5MP secondary sensor. The 8-megapixel front camera (1.12µm pixel size, f/2.0 aperture) come with an LED flash.

The 5,500mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The new handset runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with MIUI on top. It comes with Xiaomi’s XiaoAI virtual assistant in China. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS, IR Sensor, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The dual SIM smartphone measures 176.15 x 87.4 x 7.9mm and weighs 221g. It comes in three color options – Meteorite Black, Dream Gold, and Dark Blue. For audio, the new handset comes with dual amp stereo speakers.
