With innumerable mid-ranged smartphones available in the market, it often becomes difficult for us to decide which handset to buy. If you are confused about whether to buy this phone or not, read on this post to make an informed decision.
Scroll down to find Elephone P8000 review [with video] entailing details on design, performance, battery, camera, gaming and more.
The Elephone P8000 phone has a sturdy and robust design. It features metal frame on the sides which gives it a premium look. The device however is a bit heavy to hold with 205 grams of weight. At the front, there is a 5.5 inch full HD display.
Above the display, there is front camera, light and proximity sensor and earpiece.
Below the display, there are three touch capacitive buttons.
The plastic rear back houses 13 rear camera, LED flash, touch ID sensor, Elephone branding and rear speaker with average sound quality.
The lower edge houses microphone and charging port.
On the top edge, there is 3.5mm audio jack.
Right edge houses power button and volume rockers.
The left edge of the phone is clean.
The rear panel is removable and gives access to dual SIM card slots, microSD card slot and a 4165mAh battery which is not removable. The massive 4165mah battery is good enough to survive for up to 2 days on moderate usage.
The fingerprint sensor is accurate up to 75% and supports 360 degree recognition which means that it can unlock the phone whether it is held in landscape or portrait modes. The location of the sensor at the back of the phone however makes it difficult to use as it cannot be seen visually.
The 5.5-inch full HD display is sharp and bright with good viewing angles but sunlight legibility is just average.
It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor paired with 3GB of RAM. It plays moderate games seamlessly but tends to lag a bit while playing graphic intensive games. Overall multitasking and gaming performance of this phone is good.
It sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. Both cameras are capable of taking good shots in outdoor lighting but we faced some issues related to focusing. The low light shots from the cameras are not so impressive.
It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The UI is user friendly. One interesting feature is that you can easily swipe on the screen to access different folders.
There is 16GB of internal memory on board out of which around 11GB is user available. It can be expanded up to 64GB using microSD card.
