Gionee launched its S6 smartphone in India earlier this year. Now the company has launched the Pro variant of the phone- Gionee S6 Pro, in the country.
As for specifications, the S6 Pro is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor paired with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under Amigo OS 3.2. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution and 2.5D curved glass.
On imaging front, the S6 Pro sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with LED flash and PDAF while there is also an 8 mega pixel front facing camera onboard. It houses 64GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD card. Backed up by a 3130mAh battery, it measures 153×75.26×7.6 mm and weighs 170 grams. The phone features all metal unibody design and comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. It also comes with USB Type-C port.
The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Gionee VR app to offer whole new virtual reality experience to the users. There is also a Split screen feature onboard that allows users to watch the video already playing while also receiving notifications from messenger apps.

The Gionee S6, on the other hand, comes with a 1.3GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM. The device also comes with a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED (1280×720 pixels resolution, Gorilla Glass 3 protection) display, Android 5.1.1 operating system with AMIGO OS 3.1, 13 mega pixel primary camera with LED flash, 5 mega pixel front facing camera and a 3150mAh battery. It measures 151.9×74.6×4-6.9 mm and weighs 147 grams.
Price & Availability
The Gionee S6 Pro carries a price tag of Rs. 23,999 and will go on sale in India starting October 1, 2016. It comes in Gold and Rose Gold color options. The device comes with a free three month subscription of ‘Saavn Pro’ as an introductory offer. Customers can also buy VR Set with the phone for Rs. 2,499.
