The Amazon Echo (4th Gen) is priced in India at Rs 9,999. While the Echo Dot (4th Gen) costs Rs 4,499, the Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock comes at Rs 5,499.

The new Echo Dot is now available for pre-orders through Amazon.in. However, the Echo and Echo Dot with clock are yet to go on pre-orders in the country.

Additioanlly, the e-commerce giant has launched new Echo Dot Kids Edition in the US at $59.99 (approx Rs 4,420). However, there is no confirmation about the Indian launch.

Specifications and Features

The new smart speakers are said to be made with 100 percent recycled materials and feature a spherical design. All three devices come with a Low Power Mode. Let’s take a closer look:

Amazon Echo (4th Gen)

The new smart speaker is powered by Amazon’s proprietary AZ1 Neural Edge processor (specifically built for accelerating machine learning applications).

The Amazon Echo (4th Gen) features a spherical shape. It measures 144 x 144 x 133mm and weighs 970 grams. There is also a a bright LED light ring at the base of the sphere.

The smart speaker comes with a 3-inch neodymium woofer and two 0.8-inch tweeters. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Amazon Echo (4th Gen) also uses Dolby Audio processing. It is designed to sense the acoustics of your space and fine-tunes audio playback accordingly.

The new smart speaker comes with a built-in Zigbee smart home hub that enables communication with various smart home devices.

The Amazon Echo (4th Gen) also supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Amazon Sidewalk (helps to set up new connected devices quickly, supports devices like Tile, extends working range of devices such as Ring Smart Lighting).

Additioanlly, users can use a dedicated mute button on the Echo (4th Gen) to keep their microphone off when they don’t want to access Alexa using voice commands. You can also use it as a regular Bluetooth speaker.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen)

The new smart speaker comes with a 1.6-inch audio driver. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) also features a similar spherical design (along with a light ring). It measures 100 x 100 x 89mm and weighs 341.3 grams.

The smart speaker comes with a mute button as well. There is also a tap-to-snooze feature that will alllow users to snooze alarms.

Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock

The new smart speaker comes with similar features as the new Echo Dot. It measures 100 x 100 x 89mm and weighs 351.3 grams.

However, the Amazon Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock features an LED display at the front (displays the current time, outdoor temperature, timers, and alarms).
