The device features a metal frame and a large 5.5-inch display yet it is an extremely light weight phone. It has thickness of 7.85mm. Overall design is very neat and premium. It is a very light weight phone, yet it does not feel fragile. It feels sturdy to hold.

The Mega 2.5D sports an 8 mega pixel camera on the front as well as on the rear. Given the price, the front camera does a decent job in capturing selfies. There is a Beautification mode that improves the quality of images taken with the front camera. But this feature may not be liked by everyone as with this mode, images tend to appear a bit unnatural. The front camera shows some info of the users like age and names. If you don’t want your images to be saved with the age info, then you can turn this feature off from camera settings.

Coming to the primary camera, the shots taken with the 8 mega pixel rear camera are decent but they are not exceptionally good. Images taken with the rear camera have good detailing but we noticed some noise in the images especially in indoor and low lighting conditions. Macro shots are good and color reproduction is just average. For the price, the overall camera performance of Coolpad Mega 2.5D is quite impressive.

We played a few games on this phone and we found out that it tends to lag while playing heavy games like Nova 3, but it handles moderate to light games with ease. If you are a heavy gamer then, game-play may not be very smooth on this phone. It can however handle light to  moderate gaming and multitasking with ease. In this price-segment, powerful smartphones with good performance are very rare and Coolpad Mega 2.5D is one of those rare phones to achieve overall good performance.
