A new update for Google Chrome for desktop will allow users to customise profiles within the browser using colours and backgrounds. Each profile can have separate bookmarks, and saved passwords.

Google claims that the new feature will allow users to keep their personal space within the browser. You can switch between different profiles.

Additionally, users can now keep their profiles organised the way they want them. You can also access your Chrome profiles on your other devices by synching them.

The new update is now being rolled out for Google Chrome for desktop. Here are the highlights:

  • You can create two profiles and quickly switch between the ones you need to access
  • Each member can create a color-coded profile in the browser, and access a personal space within Chrome
  • Your personal space includes a color scheme and background, bookmarks, and the saved passwords of a particular user
  • When you are using the browser, the color and background will make it clear whether you’re logged into the correct profile or not
  • Users can choose their profile when they restart Chrome

Now, different family members can use a single computer. Each member can access their Chrome user profile on the same PC without cluttering the browser.

Google claims that the new color-coded multiple profile feature will especially be useful in cases where a single machine is used for both work and personal browsing.

The new update also allows users to add the articles that they want to read later, to their reading list in Chrome on Android and desktop.
