The Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Games Athlete Edition sports the Olympic rings at the back (to commemorate Tokyo 2020 Olympics).

The new model features a matte gold finish. It also comes preloaded with special wallpapers with the Tokyo Olympics theme.

In terms of dimensions, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ measures 161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8mm in dimensions and is heavier at 186 grams (188 grams for the 5G variant).

The new smartphone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 990/ Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 7nm octa-core processor along with 12GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The 4,500mAh battery comes with support for 25W fast charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and reverse wireless charging.

Cameras

On the back, the Samsung Galaxy S20 features a quad-camera set with a 12MP wide-angle sensor (f/1.8 aperture, Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, and OIS).

The camera module also includes a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.2), a 64MP telephoto lens (f/2.0, PDAF, and OIS), and a depth sensor.

A new ‘Single Take’ shooting mode captures a short video, along with a photo from all the sensors, for various perspectives. Other features include a 3x hybrid optical zoom, up to 30x Super-Resolution Zoom.

For selfies and video calling, the new smartphone sports a 10MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display with QHD (1,440 x 3,200 pixels) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a pixel count of 525ppi.

Additional features on the device include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, face recognition, 8K video recording support, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound.

Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G Olympic Edition is priced at JPY 114,840 (approx Rs 78,400).

As of now, there is no information about the Indian price tag and launch date.

Samsung is one of the partners for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games (in July this year). The new model will be given to all athletes (over 11,000) participating in the tournament.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition was announced (in Prism White color) to celebrate the Tokyo Olympics.

Alongside the Olympic-themed smartphone, the South Korean giant has a special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip in partnership with New York fashion designer Thom Browne.

The special edition foldable phone will be accompanied by custom-designed Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Watch Active 2 accessories.
