The 2018 models are powered by the company’s in-house Apple A12X Bionic 7nm 8-core processor and a 7-core GPU. The new SoC has more than 10 billion transistors. It offers 2x the graphics performance compared to last year’s Apple A11X.
Additionally, a neural engine in the A12X Bionic chip allows machine learning to help you access UI elements and apps in an enhanced manner.
The 12-megapixel rear camera comes with improved True Tone LED flash and supports 4K video recording at 60fps. The premium tablet comes with 10-hour battery life and ships with an 18W power adapter.
The new Apple iPad Pro 2018 sports 11.0-inch/ 12.9-inch LCD ProMotion Liquid Retina display with rounded corners (via the pixel masking technology seen in the iPhone XR) and 120Hz refresh rates. Both models are about 5.9mm thick.
The TrueDepth camera supports Face ID technology. It also comes with support for Animoji and Memoji (works in both portrait and landscape mode). The new iPad Pro models come with a four-speaker setup (with two woofers and two tweeters) that offer wider stereo sound.
While the new iPad Pro lacks a home button, it comes with support for iPhone X-like gesture navigation. Additionally, it uses a USB Type-C port for charging, data transfer, and external connectivity. The iPad Pro can also act as a power bank to charge your iPhone via a USB Type-C to Lightning cable.
