The new MacBook Air 2020 comes with several upgrades over its predecessor. It comes with new Intel processors and 256GB base storage (up from 128GB).

The highlight of the device is the new ‘Magic Keyboard’. The previous models featured the infamous butterfly keyboard.

Additionally, the MacBook Air 2020 comes with upgraded onboard RAM and upgraded Intel Iris Plus graphics. Apple also claims that the new laptop offers an all-day battery life.

In terms of design, the new MacBook Air model retains the aluminum design of its precessors. It weighs 1.29 kilograms.

The new model is backed by a 49.9 watt-hour lithium-polymer battery that is said to offer up to 11 hours of wireless web or up to 30 days of standby time. Let’s take a closer look:

The Apple MacBook Air 2020 is powered by 10th generation Intel Core processors. You can choose from 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i3 and 1.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 options.

The new laptop comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM (3,733MHz) and 256GB/ 512GB PCIe-based SSD storage options (the company will also offer up to 2TB SSD storage).

Apple claims that the new MacBook Air enables up to 80 percent faster graphics performance than the previous models. It comes with Intel Iris Plus graphics and supports Thunderbolt 3-enabled external graphics processors.

The laptop features Thunderbolt 3 ports for data transfer, charging, and video output. For security, the new laptop includes the Apple T2 Security Chip and Touch ID support.

The Apple MacBook Air 2020 sports a 13-inch IPS Retina display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 227ppi. It is powered by True Tone technology.

The new laptop also supports up to 6K external display. It features built-in stereo speakers with wide stereo sound production.

The Magic Keyboard has the same 1mm of key travel. The inverted-T arrow keys come with the ‘refined scissor’ mechanism that is touted to offer a quiet typing experience.

The keyboard also features backlit keys and an ambient light sensor. Additional features include a three-mic array and Force Touch trackpad.

Price Rs 92,990

The Apple MacBook Air 2020 is priced in India at Rs 92,990 for the base 256GB storage option. It comes in Gold, Silver, and Space Grey color options.

Apple has launched an upgraded Mac mini model with standard 256GB storage at Rs 74,900. The 512GB storage option is priced at Rs 1,04,900.
