The new smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor along with Adreno 610 GPU and 4GB LPDDR4x RAM. The 64GB uMCP storage can be further expanded via a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 1TB).
In terms of optics, the Moto G42 sports a triple rear camera setup on the back. It comes with a 50-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
For selfies and video calling, the handset sports a 16-megapixel front camera (f/2.2). It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W TurboPower fast charging. You can get 30 hours of backup on a single charge.

The Moto G42 runs Android 12 OS. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with Full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. It sports dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
The Moto G42 sports an IP52-rated water-repellent build. It measures 160.61 x 73.47 x 8.26mm and weighs 174.5 grams. You can choose from Atlantic Green and Metallic Rosé color options.
Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Additionally, a fingerprint sensor is placed on the side.
