New Apple MacBook With 12-inch Retina Display Unveiled, Shipping Starts On April 10

Apple has introduced its new Apple MacBook with 12-inch Retina display, which the company is touting as  thinnest and lightest Macs ever. The MacBook comes with a full size keyboard designed by Apple, fanless design, Touch trackpad, new battery design and a USB-C port which supports charging, data transfer and DisplayPort 1.2 all in a single connector. Featuring an all-metal design, new Apple MacBook is 24 percent thinner than the 11 inch MacBook Air. Read on to find more information on specifications, features, pricing and availability details of the new Apple device.

“Apple has reinvented the notebook with the new MacBook, and at just two pounds and 13.1 mm, it’s the thinnest and lightest Mac ever. Every component of the MacBook reveals a new innovation. From its fanless design, ultra-thin Retina display and full-size keyboard that’s 34 percent thinner, to its all-new Force Touch trackpad, versatile USB-C port and breakthrough terraced battery design, the new MacBook is the future of the notebook,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Features and Specifications of New Apple MacBook

  • The new MacBook will come in two variants. One with 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor, 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of flash memory and Intel HD Graphics 5300.
  • The other variant comes with 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor , 8 GB of RAM, 512 GB of flash storage and Intel HD Graphics 5300.
  • The new MacBook features a 12-inch Retina display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2304 x 1440. What keeps the MacBook running is the new fifth-generation 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics 5300 and runs on OS X Yosemite.
  • The new battery design is claimed to survive up to 9 hours on wireless web browsing and up to 10 hours on iTunes movie playback.
  • The Force Touch trackpad on the laptop comes with Force Click gesture which enables the user to look for definition of a word or see a map with a click followed by a press. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0.

Price and Availability

The shipping of new Apple MacBook will start from April 10, 2015 in Silver, Space Gray and Gold color options. Variant with lower specs is priced at $1,299 (Rs.99,900) while the one with higher specs is priced at $1,599 (Rs.1,19,900). Stay tuned with us for more updates!
