WhatsApp

The popular messaging platform has almost 200 million users in India alone. Every day, over 50 billion messages are sent in WhatsApp. These include over 3.3 billion photos, 760 million videos, and 80 million GIFs. It makes perfect sense for WhatsApp to bring new features in this section. Thanks to new albums and filters, managing photographs on WhatsApp will be much easier for iPhone users.

Albums

iOS users will now see an album view in Whatsapp. Whenever you send more than five photos or videos, they will automatically be grouped into an album within your messages. The new album uses a tile structure inside your message. Once you tap this album, you will be able to view the all the photos or videos within that collection in a full-screen mode.

Filter options

The new updated version also allows users to add filters to photos, videos, and GIFs inside the WhatsApp camera itself. A swipe on the selected picture displays the different filters to choose from. Once you select a photo or video you want to edit, just swipe and choose a filter. As of now, Whatsapp is offering only five filter options including Pop, Black and White, Cool, Chrome, and Film.

Reply shortcut

In addition to the photo section, the messaging platform has also made changes to the chat section. A new Reply Shortcut is now available to iOS users. A lot of users will find this feature quite useful. The new feature can be accessed by swiping right on the message. Now, you just need to swipe right on any message to start typing a response. A few months back, WhatApp added a similar feature. A forward message shortcut was added to the right of the received message.

The new features seem quite useful and are likely to make the ever-growing popular user base of WhatsApp. Do you like the new upgrades to the messaging platform? Excite to try these out? Let us know in the comments section below.
