OnePlus has started teasing a new handset. The company has an Instagram account (with username ‘OnePlusLiteZThing’) now with a Morse code that translates to the text “July”.
The OnePlus Z is likely to be launched in India on July 10. It is expected to be priced at Rs 24,990 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant.
OnePlus has confirmed ‘new, more affordable smartphone product line’ will launch first in India and Europe.
“As we have always done when we try something new, we are going to start relatively small with this new product line by first introducing it in Europe and India,” said Pete Lau, Co-founder & CEO, OnePlus.
“But don’t worry, we’re also looking to bring more affordable smartphones to North America in the near future as well,” he added.
The upcoming handset will the first OnePlus handset with an affordable price tag. The company hopes to attract customers who avoid OnePlus due to premium pricing.

As per recent leaks and rumors, the upcoming handset will feature a hole-punch display design (with centrally-aligned cutout). It is said to house a 16MP front camera.
The OnePlus Z/ OnePlus 8 Lite is tipped to sport a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, minimal bezels, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The rear panel will feature a rectangular-shaped triple camera setup. It is expected to combine a 64MP primary sensor with a 16MP secondary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.
The upcoming smartphone is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and up to 12GB RAM. It is likely to run Android 10-based Oxygen OS 10.
The OnePlus Z/ OnePlus 8 Lite is said to be backed by a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
Additionally,. the upcoming handset is expected to come with an alert slider, 5G support, USB Type-C port, and the speaker grille.
