The Panasonic Lumix S5 is priced at $2,000 (approx Rs 1,46,300) for just the body. With a 20-60mm kit lens, it costs $2,300 (approx Rs 1,68,260). It will be available in mid-September.

The new ‘hybrid’ camera is said to offer equally good performance for stills and video work. The autofocus system supports real-time eye, face, head, and body detection for stills and video.
The Panasonic Lumix S5 features a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with Dual Native ISO sensitivity and native ISO range of 100 – 51,200.
Users will be able to record 4K 60fps 4:2:0 10 bit video and 4K 30fps 4:2:2 10-bit video, both internally. Over HDMI-out, the camera allows you to capture 4K 60fps 4:2:2 10-bit video.
A future firmware update will enable Cinema 4K recording and RAW video output to external recorders. The battery is rated to offer 470 shots per charge.
The full-frame mirrorless camera comes with 5-axis IBIS (offers up to 6.5 stops of stabilization). You can shoot up to 7fps burst shots or you can extract 6K photos from a 30fps video clip.
The Panasonic Lumix S5 features a splash and dust resistant build. It is made of a full die-cast magnesium alloy.
The new camera features a 3.0-inch fully articulating rear LCD touchscreen. There is also an electronic viewfinder with a 2.36 million dot resolution.
The Panasonic Lumix S5 also comes with a variety of video recording assist functions such as the Vector Scope Display, Master Pedestal Adjustment, and SS/Gain Operation.
The new camera features video modes like Slow&Quick (shoots slow-motion videos at 4K 60fps or 1080p 180fps) and supports V-Log, V-Gamut, HLG workflows.
Additional features include built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, and two SD card slots (one of them supports UHS-II speeds).
