The semi-rugged laptop is aimed at professionals on the go across sectors like the automotive industry, federal/ public safety, utilities, defense, and pharmaceuticals. It will be available via various Panasonic authorized sellers.

The new laptop is powered by up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7-8665U vPro processor along with 8GB/ 16GB/ 32GB RAM and 256GB/ 512GB/ 1TB SSD storage.
For video calling, the Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 is equipped with a 2-megapixel webcam. It comes with an Infrared (IR) sensor and a privacy shutter.
The new notebook is touted to offer 40 hours of battery life. It comes with a swappable additional battery and Toughbook Battery Smart technology.

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 runs Windows 10 Pro OS. It comes with a proprietary new generation advanced security.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, rugged USB 2.0, HDMI, Serial, VGA, and LAN ports.
The semi-rugged machine comes with a proprietary Toughbook Universal Bay for easy upgrades. It also features a microSDXC card slot and a DVD/ Blu-ray drive.

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 features a 14.0-inch display with a full-HD resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and optional 10-point touch support.
The new laptop features an IP53-certified build (water-resistant) and honeycomb-style magnesium chassis with a carry handle. It measures 345 x 272 x 32.8mm and weighs around 2.08kg.
For audio, the Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 sports stereo speakers and four microphones (with WAVE and MIDI playback and Intel High Definition Audio subsystem).
