Sony ZV-1 Vlogging Camera With 4K Recording Support Launched

With the new digital camera, Sony is adding a new sub-category to its compact camera lineup. It specifically designed for vloggers.

The Sony ZV-1 comes with a face priority autofocus and a directional three-capsule microphone (for audio quality). The rear display can be flipped outwards and turned 180 degrees from the side.

Special modes allow you to adjust the level of background blur when talking to the camera. You can also prioritize an object instead of your face when you bring it the frame.

Additionally, the new camera allows you to shoot up to 4K resolution videos. Let’s take a closer look:

The Sony ZV-1 features a 20.1-megapixel 1-inch sensor with an aperture range from f/1.8 to f/2.8 and 125 to 12,800 ISO range. It comes with a 2.7x optical zoom support.

The digital camera can track eyes and faces to keep you in focus when shooting yourself. A dedicated button allows you to adjust the background bokeh when shooting vlogs.

A new ‘product showcase’ setting automatically shifts focus from your face to the object being shown off to the camera. This is aimed at users creating review videos.

The Sony ZV-1 sports a three-capsule mic in the front for clearer audio. It ships with a windscreen to block out wind noise. There’s also a 3.5mm socket and a hot shoe for external microphones.

The 3-inch touchscreen display at the back can be turned all the way forwards, from the side. Stabilization support allows you to get steady footage when shooting handheld.

In terms of dimensions, the Sony ZV-1 measures 105.5 x 60.0 x 43.5mm and weighs just 294g.

Price and Availability

Price$799 (approx Rs 60,600)

The Sony ZV-1 is priced at $799 (approx Rs 60,600). However, it will be available at an introductory price of $749 (approx Rs 56,800) till June 28.

Additionally, Sony is offering a Vlogger kit at $149 (approx Rs 11,300). It includes a 64GB memory card and the GP-VPT2BT Shooting Grip.
