Vivo iQoo Launched With Snapdragon 855 SoC, Triple Cameras

Vivo has finally launched the first smartphone under the new sub-brand iQoo. The new handset is aimed at gaming and photography fanatics. It is powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC along with its vapour cooling system. Additional highlights include triple rear cameras, 44W Vivo Super Flash Charge tech, and 12GB RAM. The Vivo iQoo is priced in China at CNY 2,998 (approx Rs 31,700) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage costs CNY 3,298 (approx Rs 34,900), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 3,598 (approx Rs 38,100). A high-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at CNY 4,298 (approx Rs 45,500).

The new handset comes in Electric Blue and Lava Orange color options. The first flash sale will be held in China at 10am CST (7:30am IST) on March 6 via TMall.

The new handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with 6GB/ 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage. The 4,000mAh battery supports Vivo’s Super Flash Charge technology that can charge the device up to 50 percent in 15 minutes (fully charge in 45 minutes).

In terms of optics, the Vivo iQoo sports a triple camera setup on the back. It combines a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.79 aperture) with 13-megapixel Sony IMX263 sensor (wide-angle lens) and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, the handset sport s 12-megapixel front camera.

The Vivo iQoo runs Android 9.0 Pie operating system with Funtouch OS 9 on top. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a variety of multi-Turbo features that can customize the performance levels as per user requirements. This include – AI Turbo, Centre Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo modes.

Design

The gaming smartphone features a 3D glass build with an LED strip at the back. Additionally, the top-end variant comes with a faux-carbon fiber back (protected by a curved glass panel). It measures 157.69 x 75.2 x 8.51mm. iQoo branding is placed on the back.

The 6.41-inch AMOLED display comes with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 91.7 percent of screen-to-body ratio, and a waterdrop-shaped notch. The handset also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Additionally, the Vivo iQoo features Monster Touch shoulder buttons (on the side panel) that offer four point operations to gamers. Whereas the company’s vapor cooling system is touted to reduce up to 12-degree Celsius of temperature, without affecting the performance.
