Vivo has launched a new variant of its Z3i smartphone in China. The Vivo Z3i Standard Edition comes with an IPS LCD display (instead of an AMOLED panel on the original variant). It comes in two new color options – Dream Pink and Starry Night Black. Most specs and features remain the same. The Vivo Z3i Standard Edition is priced in China at CNY 1,998 (approx Rs 20,900). It comes in Aurora Blue, Dream Pink, and Starry Night Black color options. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price and launch date.

The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor and 6GB RAM (similar to Vivo V11). The 128GB internal storage can be further expanded via a micro SD card (up to 256GB). The Vivo V11 arrived with 64GB internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Vivo Z3i Standard Edition sports a dual camera setup on the back. It comes with a 16-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture) and a 2-megapixel sensor (f/2.4 aperture). The highlight of the device is a 24-megapixel front camera (f/2.0 aperture). Camera features include AI Beauty, Backlight, Panorama, and Portrait Background Blur among others.

In the power department, the new handset is backed by a 3,315mAh battery.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with Funtouch OS on top. It comes with Jovi voice assistant. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.

The Vivo Z3i Standard Edition sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2280pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 90.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. In terms of dimensions, it measures 155.97 x 75.63 x 8.1mm and weighs 163.7 grams.

The new handset comes with a face recognition technology and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additional sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

Conclusion

The original Vivo Z3i was launched in China last October at CNY 2,398 (approx Rs 25,600). It comes in Aurora Blue as well as Millennium Powder color options. The mid-range smartphone is essentially a rebranded variant of the Vivo V11 (available at Rs 20,990).
