Xiaomi has launched its new flagship smartphone in the Chinese market. The new Mi MIX 2S sports a ceramic body, vertically-aligned dual rear cameras, voice assistant, and supports Qi wireless charging. Additionally, a fingerprint scanner is placed on the back. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is priced at CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 34,200) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage variant. The 128GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 3,599 (approx Rs 37,300). Whereas the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant is available at CNY 3,999 (approx Rs 41,400).
The new handset comes in two color options – Black and White. Additionally, the top-end model comes bundled with a wireless charger (worth CNY 99).
Pre-bookings for the new smartphone are already open. Sales start in China from April 3. As of now, there is no information about an Indian launch date or price.

The new Mi MIX 2S sports a 5.99-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution, a pixel density of 403ppi, and 18:9 aspect ratio. It also supports the DCI-P3 color gamut. The new handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB/ 8GB LPDDR4X RAM.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone features a vertically-aligned dual rear camera setup. It uses two 12-megapixel sensors with 1.4-micron pixels (Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, wide-angle lens and four-axis OIS + telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture and optical zoom). The company is touting the dual-core PDAF on the rear camera.
AI features include dynamic Bokeh, smart artifact, business card recognition, face recognition, etc. The AI-based scene recognition feature can recognize up to 206 scenes. The 5-megapixel front camera comes with HDR features, Face Unlock capabilities, and AI-based beautification features.
The 3400mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. Xiaomi claims that the new handset can be fully charged in 2 hours 40 minutes.

The new Mi MIX 2S measures 150.86 x 74.9 x 8.1mm and weighs 189 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. It also supports 6 network modes and 43 bands (this covers 226 regions across the world).
The dual-SIM smartphone runs MIUI 9. Sensors on the device include an ultrasonic proximity sensor, an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, and gyroscope.
The new handset comes with an upgraded camera and specs (over the Mi MIX 2). The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is priced in India at Rs 35,999. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The Mi MIX 2 sports a 5.99-inch display with a 2,160 x 1,080pixels resolution, a pixel density of 403ppi, a DCI-P3 color gamut, and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support (9V/2A).
On the camera front, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 sports a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.25um pixels, 4-axis optical stabilization, 5-piece lens, and f/2.0 aperture. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with for selfies and video calling.
