The Xiaomi Mi Reader is priced in China at CNY 579 (approx Rs 5,900). It will be available for crowdfunding on November 20. Shipping starts on December 18.

Once the crowdfunding goal is achieved, the e-book reader will cost CNY 599 (approx Rs 6,100). As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The Xiaomi Mi Reader features a 6.0-inch HD e-ink display with a pixel density of 212ppi. It supports 24 brightness presets and allows for uniform brightness coverage of up to 90 percent.

The new e-book reader allows users to import their library from the cloud. You can seamlessly switch between reading a smartphone and Mi Reader. Compatible file formats include TXT, EPUD, PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, and the whole suite of Microsoft Office content.

The Xiaomi Mi Reader is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Allwinner B300 processor along with 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It runs a custom skin based on Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

The e-book reader is backed by a 1,800mAh battery that can be charged with the supplied 5V/ 1.5A charger via the USB Type-C port.

The new device features a dual-tone design with thick white bezels and a dark rear panel with a grippy texture. It measures 159.2 x 116 x 8.3mm and weighs 178 grams.
