The new ‘Mirror Flower Water Moon’ color option (with a glossy white surface finish) of Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro is currently listed in China. It is available in a 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants, respectively. As of now, there is no information about its availability in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB model will be available at Rs 11,999.

In China, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is priced at CNY 999 (approx Rs 10,300) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. While the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant costs CNY 1,199 (approx Rs 12,400), the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 14,500).

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7 Pro price starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant. A 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage version costs Rs 16,999.

The Redmi Note 7 is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor along with 3GB/ 4GB/ 6GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. The 4,000mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 4 support.

In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a dual-camera setup on the back. It combines a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor (with f/1.8 aperture) with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Additional features include AI-support and LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the handset sports a 13-megapixel front camera.

It supports 450 nits brightness, 84 percent NTSC color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The handset also features 2.5D glass protection on front and at the back.

The Pro sports the same design and display as the Redmi Note 7. It sports a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 on front and back. The new smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor (based on 11nm process) along with 4GB/ 6GB RAM, and 64GB/ 128GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB).

The dual-camera setup on the back combines a 48-megapixel primary sensor (with f/1.79 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. Artificial intelligence (AI) powered features include AI scene detection, AI Portrait 2.0, and Night mode. The 13-megapixel front camera also 4K video recording (similar to the rear camera).

Xiaomi claims that it has added enhanced system optimizations in the Redmi Note 7 Pro which offer 10 percent faster system responsiveness. The 4,000mAh battery comes with Quick Charge 4.0 support. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.

The new handset comes in four color options – Mirror Flower Water Moon (with a glossy white surface finish), Neptune Blue (with a gradient finish), Nebula Red (with a gradient finish), and Space Black.

Conclusion

The Redmi Note 7 is the first smartphone under the ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ sub-brand. Recently, Xiaomi has decided to part ways with the ‘Redmi’ brand. It will serve as a separate sub-brand (similar to POCO). Lei Jun (Xiaomi CEO) has confirmed that the new sub-brand will focus on bringing e-commerce friendly devices. On the other hand, the ‘Mi models’ will focus more on mid to high-end devices.
