Lenovo has finally launched its K6 Power smartphone in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 9,999, the smartphone will compete with Xiaomi’s Redmi 3s Prime smartphone. On design front, both phones flaunt their metal unibody design which looks very premium. Both are compact and light weight smartphones. The Lenovo K6 Power measures 9.3mm in thickness and weighs 145 grams while Redmi 3S Prime has thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 144 grams.


Both smartphones feature a 5-inch display. However, there is a difference in screen resolution of both the phones. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime comes with an HD 720p resolution display while the K6 Power has a full HD 1080p resolution screen. The Lenovo K6 Power does have an upper hand in this round.


Both phones sport a 13 mega pixel primary camera on the back accompanied with LED flash and PDAF. As for front camera, the Redmi 3S Prime sports a 5 mega pixel camera while the K6 Power offers an 8 mega pixel front shooter. Thus, in camera department again, the Lenovo K6 Power has an edge over the Redmi 3S Prime due to its front camera.

Processor & RAM

This round is a tie as both smartphones pack 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal memory onboard and both devices support expandable storage using microSD card.


Both smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system wrapped under their respective UI’s. The Lenovo K6 Power comes with company’s Pure UI that offers support for dual apps and more. The Redmi 3S Prime, on the other hand, has MIUI 8 skin atop and offers tonnes of customization options as well as features such as Lite mode, Reading mode and One-handed mode.


The Lenovo K6 Power packs a 4000mAh battery while Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime comes with a slightly larger 4100mAh battery.

Both smartphones feature a fast and accurate fingerprint sensor for additional security.

Additional Features

The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime comes with an IR Blaster which allows users to control compatible appliances. The Lenovo K6 Power on the other hand, features Dolby Atmos audio and TheatreMax technology.


Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime carries a price tag of Rs. 8,999 while the Lenovo K6 Power costs Rs. 9,999.


Both Lenovo K6 Power and Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime are powerful budget smartphones and offer similar specifications. The Lenovo K6 Power comes with a better display, 8 mega pixel front camera and  features such as Dolby Atmos audio and TheatreMax technology. But you will have to shed Rs. 1,000 for the K6 Power. Xiaomi Redmi 3S on the other hand offers slightly more battery and IR blaster and is priced Rs. 1,000 less than the K6 Power. If you want your smartphone to be equipped with a full HD display, 8MP front camera along with TheatreMax technology for VR and 360-degree viewing support, then you should go for Lenovo K6 Power. But remember that all these features will cost you Rs. 1,000 more. If a full HD display and a 5 mega pixel are sufficient, then you can also opt for Xiaomi Redmi 3S  Prime.
