Amazon has launched two new Echo companion devices in India – Echo Link and Echo Link Amp. The Amazon Echo Link is priced at Rs 19,999. It is now available for pre-orders via Amazon.in. Shipping starts from April 16th. On the other hand, the Amazon Echo Link Amp comes with a price tag of Rs 29,999. It will be available from early next month.

The new companion devices aim to deliver high fidelity streaming music to your existing stereo system. Users will be able to use Alexa voice commands to control music selection, volume, and playback through voice. Both devices feature volume knobs, WiFi connectivity, and an Ethernet port.

Both the Amazon Echo Link and Echo Link Amp work with audio streaming services such as Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, Gaana, TuneIn, and Hungama Music. However, the device must be connected to a receiver or amplifier as a source device to transmit the signal to passive speakers.

Additionally, you can set the Echo Link or the Echo Link Amp as the preferred speaker in a speaker group and use another Echo device with a microphone in the same group. Users can also add their existing audio system to a Multi-Room Music group for streaming music in multiple rooms.

Amazon Echo Link

The new companion device can be used with both digital and analog equipment (turntables, digital audio players, etc) through on-device analog, optical, or coaxial output jacks. It features a subwoofer line-output with adjustable crossover frequency, and a 3.5mm amplified headphone jack.

You can also use the Echo Link to play music from another audio component (CD player, amplified turntable, MP3 player, etc) via analog, optical, and coaxial line-inputs.

Amazon Echo Link Amp

In addition to the above-mentioned features, the Amazon Echo Link Amp sports a built-in 60W per channel stereo amplifier. It can be directly connected to passive speakers with the left-right speaker binding posts for wiring directly to non-powered speakers.

Recently, the company launched the Amazon Echo Show in India at Rs 22,999. It comes with a 10-inch HD display. Additional features include speakers and the Alexa AI voice assistant.
