The new MacBook Air 2018 is priced at $1,199 (approx Rs 88,200) for the 128GB SSD storage model. It will be available in India at Rs 1,14,900 from November 7. The 256GB SSD storage model costs $1,399 (approx Rs 1,02,900). The Indian price is not known as of now. It comes in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray color options.

The Apple MacBook Air 2018 is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo up to 3.6GHz) along with Intel UHD Graphics 617, 8GB 2133MHz RAM (up to 16GB), and a 128GB SSD (up to 1.5TB). The 50.3Wh battery offers up to 12 hours of wireless web browsing, 13 hours of iTunes movie playback, and 30 days of standby time.

The new laptop features a 13.3-inch Retina display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2560 x 1600pixels. Apple claims that the new display brings 48 percent more color, and 50 percent narrower bezels. The backlit keyboard comes with individual lighting behind each key and third-generation Butterfly mechanism (said to be 4 times more stable). A new Force Touch trackpad comes with 20 percent larger area.
In terms of optics, the new MacBook Air comes with a 720p FaceTime HD camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also comes with two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports on the left side. The stereo speakers come with more bass than before. The laptop features a three-mic array.
Overall, the MacBook Air 2018 occupies 17 percent less volume than the previous generation. It is just 15.6mm-thick (10 percent thinner than its predecessor) and weighs 1.25kg (down from 1.34kg). The new laptop is built with 100-percent recycled aluminum. It will be available in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray color options.
