Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition Launched Alongside Asus Vivowatch SP

The Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition is priced at EUR 1,199 (approx Rs 95,200). On the other hand, the ROG Phone 2 is priced at EUR 899 (roughly Rs. 71,400).

The new special edition comes with 1TB UFS 3.0 internal storage and LTE Cat.20 connectivity. The regular global edition comes with 512GB storage and a Black Glare color finish. Other specifications of the smartphone remain the same.

In China, the Asus ROG Phone 2 comes in six different variants. The base variant (with Tencent Depth Customisation) is priced at CNY 3,499 (approx Rs 35,000). Another variant (Enjoy Peace in Beijing) comes with a price tag of CNY 3,699 (approx Rs 37,000). Both devices come with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 classic variant (with 12GB RAM/ 128GB storage) is priced at CNY 5,999 (approx Rs 60,000). Whereas it’s ‘Enjoy Peace in Beijing’ version costs at CNY 6,199 (approx Rs 62,000).

The company also launched a Zhizun version and a ROG Phone 2 (Esports Armour Version) variant at CNY 7,999 (approx Rs 80,000) and CNY 12,999 (approx Rs 1,30,000), respectively.

The new smartphone is powered by a 2.9GHz Snapdragon 855 Plus processor along with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB UFS 3.0 internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Asus ROG Phone 2 sports a dual camera set up on the back. It combines a 48-megapixel primary sensor with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor (125-degrees field of view). For selfies, it sports a 24-megapixel front camera.

The gaming smartphone is backed by a large 6,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging support.

The Asus ROG Phone 2 runs Android 9 Pie operating system with ROG UI on top (with an option to switch to stock Android OS). Connectivity options include LTE Cat.20, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The 6.59-inch AMOLED display comes with Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 10-bit HDR support. The display panel has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1 and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Additionally, it has a 240Hz touch sampling rate and touch latency of 49ms.

The handset also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. Other sensors on the device include accelerometer, compass, proximity sensor, hall sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and an ultrasonic sensor.

The gaming smartphone sports dual front-facing stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support. It measures 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78mm and weighs 240 grams. The new handset comes in a special matte black finish.

There’s also a proprietary connector for the accessories (on the side). A new gamepad attachment can be detached and attached at each end of the smartphone. The ROG Kunai Gamepad looks like a conventional console remote.

Asus Vivowatch SP

The new wearable comes with ECG capabilities. It can track your blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels. The Medical-grade ECG sensors are placed on the side of the case. The PPG Optical Sensors are located at the back.

Additionally, the Asus Vivowatch SP sports a Pulse O2 monitor which can track oxygen saturation. A built-in GPS and altimeter helps you to track treks and altitude.

Asus Vivowatch SP

The new smartwatch is waterproof up to 5ATM. It offers up to 14 days of battery life. The TFT Full-colour display comes with Gorilla Glass on top. It also comes with an anti-fingerprint coating and a ceramic bezel.
