The Asus ZenFone Max Shot is priced in Brazil at BRL 1,349 (approx Rs 25,800) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model comes with a price tag of BRL 1,549 (approx Rs 29,600).

On the other hand, the Asus ZenFone Max Plus M2 costs BRL 1,299 (approx Rs 24,800) for the lone 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The new ZenFone models are the world’s first smartphones to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon System in Package (SiP). It includes a 1.8GHz octa-core processor (14nm manufacturing process-based) and Adreno 506 GPU. Both handsets are backed by a 4,000mAh battery.

Camera

While the Asus ZenFone Max Shot sports a triple camera setup on the back (12-megapixel primary sensor + 8-megapixel secondary sensor + 5-megapixel tertiary sensor), the Asus ZenFone Max Plus M2 comes with a dual rear camera setup (12-megapixel sensor + 5-megapixel sensor).

For selfies and video calling, both handsets sport an 8-megapixel front camera.selfie shooter, like the ZenFone Max Shot.

Both dual-SIM smartphones run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system (upgrade to Android 9 Pie promised). The 6.26-inch IPS display comes with full-HD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio.

Conclusion

The Snapdragon SiP integrates various components of the Snapdragon SoC (app processor, power management, RF front end, audio codec, etc) into a single semiconductor system in package. It is essentially an attempt to further reduce the size of the mobile chipsets. Qualcomm claims that the SiP chips will make the manufacturing processes simpler and faster.
