Black Shark 3, Black Shark 3 Pro Announced With 90Hz display, 12GB RAM

The Black Shark 3 is priced at 3499 yuan (approx Rs 36,605) for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. It comes in Lighting Black, Silver and Grey color options.

You can get the 12GB RAM variant at 3799 yuan (approx Rs 39,750) for the 128GB storage option. The 256GB storage option comes at 3999 yuan (approx Rs 41,840).

The Black Shark 3 Pro is priced at 4699 yuan (approx Rs 49,165) for the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant. It comes in Phantom Black and Armor Grey color options.

The 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of 4999 yuan (approx Rs 52,300). All models will be available in China from March 10th.

Additionally, the company has launched accessories like Fun Cooler Pro (179 yuan/ approx Rs 1,875), 3rd-gen gaming left handle (199 yuan/ Rs 2095), and a Black Shark Bluetooth gaming headset 2 (499 yuan/ approx Rs 5,250).

The new handsets are powered by a 2.84GHz octa-core Snapdragon 865 7nm processor along with Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB/ 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage.

While the Black Shark 3 is backed by a 4720mAh battery, the Black Shark 3 Pro comes with a larger 5000mAh battery (with 65W fast charging).

The gaming phone uses a ‘Sandwich’ liquid cooling system, double-sided liquid-cooling covers key heat sources.

Additionally, the company has added Black Shark GameEngine and SolarCore intelligent game acceleration engine that loads games faster with minimal power consumption.

Cameras

Both Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro sport a 20MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. The company has also added RAW Super Night mode.

On the back, the triple-camera setup combines a 64MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor (120-degree FoV, f/2.25), and a 5MP depth sensor (f/2.2).

The new gaming phones run the Android 10 operating system. It comes with dual-mode 5G (SA/ NSA), Dual-band Wi-Fi 6, and X + X antenna architecture for a smooth gaming experience.

Connectivity options also include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ax (2×2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The dual-SIM smartphones come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual 1217 super linear speakers.

Design

The gaming phones sport a new symmetrical design. The Black Shark 3 measures 168.72 × 77.33 x 10.42mm and weighs 222g. Whereas the Pro model measures 177.79 × 83.29 x 10.1mm and weighs 253g.

Both Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro feature large gaming triggers with 1.5mm keystroke, 1 million key lifespans, and 300,000 lifting span.

Both devices feature horizontal linear motors specially adjusted for games. Users can adjust for 150+ kinds of scenes for vibration effect.

Additional features include independent lifting control with zero delay and accidental touch prevention. A self-locking feature ensures ultra-high stability of the buttons and has drop recovery.

Display

The Black Shark 3 sports a 6.67-inch display with Full HD+ (2400 × 1080 pixels) resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 105% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a pixel density of 394pppi.

On the other hand, the Black Shark 3 Pro features a 7.1-inch display with Quad HD+ (3120 × 1440 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 97% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a pixel density of 438pppi.

Both Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro come with a 90Hz refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, HDR 10+, MEMC intelligent motion compensation technology.

The company is also touting that the new handsets feature the world’s highest touch sampling rate of 270Hz. While the single-finger touch response delay is as low as 24ms, the multi-finger touch response delay is as low as 28ms.

Both displays have a screen pressure sensitivity of 3.0. The number of pressure-sensitive sensors has been increased to 4. Whereas the pressure-sensitive area has been increased by 48%.
