Nubia Red Magic 5G To Sport 16GB RAM, New Active Fan Cooling Solution

Nubia has already started teasing the Red Magic 5G smartphone. However, it is yet to confirm the price tag and launch date.

The Nubia Red Magic 3S was launched in India at Rs 35,999 for the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. It comes in a Mecha Silver (Space Grey) color option.

The 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 47,999. It will be available in Cyber Shade (Red and Blue) color option.

As per recent leaks and rumors, the Nubia Red Magic 5G will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor along with Qualcomm X55 modem (adds dual-mode 5G support) and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.

The gaming smartphone will run the Android 10-based Redmagic OS v3.0. It is said to come with 256GB internal storage.

In terms of optics, the Nubia Red Magic 5G is said to feature a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor.

The display is tipped to come with a 144Hz refresh rate. The rear panel will feature a unique design with an illuminated Red Magic logo.

Nubia claims that the handset will sport ‘super-fast charging and large capacity batteries’. It is likely to come in one of three variants – 4,000mAh battery/ 100W fast charging, 4,500mAh battery/ 55W fast charging or 5,000mAh battery/ 30W fast charging.

Previously, the handset was tipped to come with an 80W charging support and a new ‘air-cooled fast charging solution’ (with a unique built-in fan) to handle temperature rise/ heating issues.

The Nubia Red Magic 5G uses a combination of air and liquid cooling. The high-efficiency fan can spin at a maximum speed of 15,000RPM. The new air duct design increases the ventilation volume by 43 percent.

Additionally, the handset uses a high-performance thermally conductive gel and high-conductivity aviation-grade aluminum to transfer heat more efficiently. The thermal coefficient has been increased by 100 percent.

The Nubia Red Magic 3S came with several upgrades over its predecessors. It is powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor along with 8GB/ 12GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage.

Additionally, the gaming handset integrates the active liquid cooling technology with an internal turbofan. It is said to improve effective heat transfer and enable long/ smooth gaming sessions

The new smartphone sports a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.75 aperture. Fro selfies and video calling, it features a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and AI Beauty features.

For audio, the new handset sports dual front-facing stereo speakers, DTS: X, and 3D sound technologies.

The dual-SIM smartphone sports a 6.65-inch HDR AMOLED display with FHD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 430 nits brightness.

Additionally, Red Magic’s light effects editor lets you can customize RGB lighting with several effects and over 16.8 million colors.

The gaming handset also sports additional hardware toggles and touch-sensitive shoulder triggers on the sides. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.
