The new handset is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6750T processor along with MaliT860-MP2 GPU and 4GB RAM. The 64GB internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card (up to 128GB).

In terms of optics, the Coolpad Note 8 sports a dual camera setup on the back. It uses a 16-megapixel primary sensor (f/2.0 aperture, autofocus) and a 0.3-megapixel secondary sensor. The 8-megapixel front camera comes with 4P lens and f/2.2 aperture. Camera features include blur mode, panorama mode, and face beauty for selfies.

The company claims that the 4,000mAh battery offers up to 200 hours of standby time and up to 8 hours of talk time.

The Coolpad Note 8 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The dual-SIM smartphone features a 5.99-inch display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor supports touch control gestures to customize quick launch shortcuts. It can unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds.

The new handset comes in a Black Piano finish. It measures 151 x 72.5 x 8.3mm and weighs 185 grams. Sensors on the device include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer.

The Coolpad Note 8 is the successor of Coolpad Note 6 (launched in May at Rs 8,500). Recently, the company launched Coolpad Mega 5A smartphone at just Rs 6,999. “After going through a rough phase we are looking forward to make an impact in the Indian market with Coolpad Note 8.
